Arts & Crafts: Garden

Garden Scene Painting added 2-28-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: Finger-paint (blue), tissue paper for flowers (or small paper baking/candy cups), paper stems (or pipe cleaners), seeds, sand  (or green paper Easter grass), finger-painting paper

Directions: Children finger-paint on paper then stick on tissue paper flowers, paper
stems, seeds and sand to form a garden


Designing a Flower Garden added 2-28-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: P
aper, markers and crayons, pictures of flowers (use old seed catalogs and seed packets), ice cream sticks, box, brown paper

Directions: Children select the flowers they want in their garden by looking though old seed catalogs and seed packets. Glue pictures, drawings or old seed packets onto ice cream sticks. Make a raised flower plot by using the top (or lid) of a box and covering it with brown paper. The children stick their flower sticks in this plot to create a three-dimensional flower garden.

Need: Paint, Paper

Directions: Paint the bottom of the child's foot and let them put it on paper. They can then add a stem and what other decoration they choose to add to the picture.


Seed Collage added 3-24-03 Original Author Unknown

Need: paper, seeds, glue

Directions: Make collages using all types of seeds and beans.  This activity can also
be used by cutting pictures from seed catalogs.
