Arts & Crafts: Hospital


Doctor
added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: paper, foil

Directions: Make headbands for doctors white strips then a circle for the center that the children cover with pieces of tin foil for the light (mirror).


Doctor's Bag added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: paper, Q-tip, cotton ball, band-aid, craft sticks, gauze

Directions: Make the doctor bag (just cut a dr. shaped bag -use black construction paper)-complete with handle. Inside put a Q-tip, a cotton ball, a Band-Aid, a craft stick, punch outs from hole puncher (pills) (be very careful with this one. You don't want to teach that pills are to be played with.) piece of gauze, and whatever else you can think of.


Stethoscope added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: Egg Cartons, paint, and yarn

Directions: Have the children paint each the cupped areas of a egg carton (cut up one for each child) then poke a hole and put a piece of yarn through for their stethoscopes. 


Thermometers added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: straws and black markers

Directions: Create pretend thermometers by cutting clear plastic straws into halves. Use a permanent black marker to make lines on one side of each straw half. 


Band-aid pictures added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need:
paper and Band-aid's

Directions: Give each child a band-aid and a sheet of paper. Have them put the band-aid on their paper and then draw a picture. Ask them to tell you what has happened in their picture and write it on the paper.


Cotton swab paintings added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: paint, paper, and cotton swabs

Directions:
Let children paint a design with cotton swabs.


Masking design  added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: medical tape, paper, and paint

Directions:
Have the children use medical tape in 1 - 2 in. strips and put on paper. Then go over with paint, remove tape and you have a wonderful design. 


Surgical Mask added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: paper towel and yarn

Directions: Let the children make their own.  Use thick paper towels and fold into thirds lengthwise.  Poke holes into the middle of both ends.  Attach yarn and tie.


Red Cross  added 1-03-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: Paper and yarn

Directions: Cut out 2 red cross shapes, punch holes around, and have children sew
and stuff.


Band-Aid Man  added 2-10-01 Original Author Unknown
 
Need: Band-aid, markers, cotton ball, glue, q-tips, paper

Directions: Have children stick a Band-Aid on a piece of construction paper.  Glue a
cotton ball on top of Band-Aid for his head. Use a marker to put eyes, nose and mouth on cotton ball.  Cut Q-tips in half and glue on for arms and legs.
