Need: Paper Plates, Scissors, Paint, streamers

Directions: Using a paper plate you cut 6 lines like your cutting a pizza. Do NOT cut through to the rim. The plate will have cuts in the center that will look similar to a pizza slice that will allow you to place the plate onto the child’s head like a crown. When you place the plate on the child’s head the points will stick up like a crown. I think these could pass as jester hats of a sort. Paint them with purple, green & gold colors which are Mardi Gras colors. You could also staple long streamers using the same colors around the hats just to make them fun.

Need: Black paper, glue, glitter

Directions: Make your own fireworks. We gave each of the children a piece of black construction paper and had them make designs using white glue (Elmer’s). They then sprinkled glitter over the glue. We used a variety of colors to give it a firework effect!
