Round
things are all around us. In this story, townspeople are preparing
a feast for a king. A chef makes a pancake while a jester rings bells. As
the jester does cartwheels, a lady with a platter of doughnuts falls down
and a doughnut lands on the tip of her nose. The king and queen are getting
ready for the feast, not realizing what is going on downstairs. The royal
family delights in finding a birds nest. Other townspeople are picking
daisies and one is fishing while still another buys a cake from a baker. All
of the townspeople share in the festivities including sharing in a meal and
a ride in a hot air balloon.
Children will delight in finding the different
items in the pictures as
you read. Yu-Mei Han did an excellent job in illustrating a book with
delightful, brightly colored pictures. Its humor and rhyming verses will
keep the audience interested.
Youngsters will learn that wherever you look you
will see things that are round. This book provides a great story while
making learning fun.
