Children
usually have a favorite babysitter. One that they prefer more than anyone
else. Clarice Bean is no exception. It just so happens to be Uncle Ted. Now
having an uncle as a favorite babysitter may not seem like such a bad idea.
But chances are, we don't have anyone as crazy as Uncle Ted.
Clarice's mother needs a babysitter, since she and
her husband are called out of town on business. She isn't too happy when she
can't find another babysitter no matter how many calls she has made. When
Uncle Ted comes to visit, things usually get pretty wild. But being choosy
in this case isn't an option, so she has to let Uncle Ted baby-sit.
Everything goes great for two days. Despite strict rules set out by the
mother, things get out of hand when the school's guinea pig gets let out of
his cage by Clarice's younger brother. Clarice is worried she was supposed
to be babysitting for Albert while on Spring Break. Granddad wanders away
and is found at a neighbor's house.
After a wild adventure of chasing Albert. Clarice's
younger brother gets
his head stuck in a fence. Uncle Ted is a firefighter in New York City so
rescuing people is normal for him. He calls his firefighter friends to help
him. In the mean time, Clarice's mother returns home and has a creative
solution to getting her son's head out of the fence. The house is a
disaster, Mrs. Bean isn't surprised. Uncle Ted places the blame on Albert.
Most children will identify with the transferring
of blame. The crazy
antics throughout the book will keep the children entertained. This is
simply a hilarious book. Fast paced story line and vivid colored pictures
will make this a sure fire hit for preschoolers. Outrageously funny!
