Midnight Farm

If
you enjoyed "Goodnight Moon" by Margaret W. Brown then you will definitely
want to add "The Midnight Farm" by Reene Lindbergh to your
collection. This tender lullaby leads us on a tour of a farm at midnight,
where the dark is warm and natural rather than scary. Caught up as I was in
the beautiful poem and full-color; I almost missed the subtle counting rhyme.
Susan Jeffers' illustrations were done using
a fine line pen with
ink, dyes, and gouache; winning it the Redbook's Children's Picture Award.
The soothing rhythmic flow of this poem makes it a great bedtime story.
