If your child is only slightly familiar with the opera they'll be intrigued as
Luigi the Rooster tries out his unusual voice. If
"opera" might as well be a foreign word in your household, don't
worry, the story is fun and funny, and the pictures are spellbinding.
Its a good exercise for the imagination, stretching young minds to
new vistas as Luigi stows away in the back of the farmer's truck headed
for the city. He sneaks into the balcony of the theater and begins
singing along with the opera! Too bad, but Luigi's voice isn't
appreciated right away. "Come out, you cowardly, conniving,
copy-cat cockerel! I'll carve you into cacciatore!" screams the
enraged tenor. Bantam of the Opera provides a fresh plot
and a new twist on the classic theme: keep trying and your dreams
will come true. Your preschooler will be delighted you brought this
one home!
