Poor
little Teddy has been forgotten in the sand box overnight. Instead of being
cuddled up in Paul's warm bed, Teddy is left cold, alone and hearing
mysterious noises.
Teddy sees a rabbit carrying a basket full of eggs
trying to sneak away from the hen house. Teddy is a very inquisitive bear
and chases after the rabbit. He is startled by a wise owl who asks
"What are you looking for?" Teddy tells the owl what he has seen.
The owl gives him directions as to where the rabbit may be going. Teddy goes
through the woods to a meadow where he comes upon an interesting scene. In
the meadow, he sees many bunnies busy painting Easter eggs. An old bunny
none other than the Easter Bunny himself tells Teddy that he must keep what
he has seen a secret. But since Teddy is there and it is the night before
Easter, the Easter Bunny enlists Teddy's help in painting eggs and placing
them in baskets. The senior bunny tells Teddy to be sure to not get any of
the paint onto himself. One bunny is instructed by the Easter Bunny to take
Teddy along back to Paul's house when his basket gets delivered. This way
Teddy won't get lost in returning home.
It is now early morning and Teddy is very tired
from being out all night. Paul asks Teddy where he got the blue paint
splotch but Teddy keeps his Easter secret.
Teddy's Easter Secret by Gerlinde Weincrz is a very
imaginative and
brightly colored book. Children will love hearing about the adventure
Teddy had one particular Easter Eve.
