An Alphabet Fiesta
B
y Anne Miranda

Review by: Jerrie DeRose

The book, An Alphabet Fiesta is unique in that it is written in both English and Spanish.  Young children will enjoy joining an entire alphabet of animals as they make their way to the zoo for a surprise fiesta and birthday party for Zelda the Zebra in response to secret invitations mailed by Zelda’s mother.  Food, gifts, music, and even the modes of transportation used by the various guests utilize the same letter of the alphabet as the animal guests themselves.

Both educational and fun, the book was illustrated by elementary school children in Spain using watercolors.  This makes the book even more colorful and imaginative for those children flipping through the pages, being read to, or reading for themselves.
