Happy Easter, God
By Elspeth Campell Murphy
Published By Bethany House

Review by: Yvonne Gaudet

Sometimes I come across a book that is great reading for parents and their children, Happy Easter, God, is such a book. With bible scriptures brought to life in the form of children’s poems, God’s word is revealed to them in a way that is easily understood. This book is filled with Easter related poems like “To Church on Easter Morning”, “Easter Lily”, and “Easter Egg Hunt”, which are all beautifully written by Elspeth Campell Murphy. Each poem is related to a verse in the bible, which is also listed in the top left hand corner of the pages for adult meditation. Some times these verses are taught to us better by a child’s innocence then by even your favorite preacher! We can often learn more from our children’s reactions then from any other means of communication. The illustrations are done by Jim Lewis and are bright and beautiful. They appear to be done in colored pencil and make a great addition to the text!
I recommend this cute book for children ages 0-8, and it would make a great gift for your Sunday school teacher or private school classroom! This would also be a terrific way to keep your child busy during your church service, because it is directly related to God and His word.
