Old Bobís Brown Bear
By
Niki Daly

Review by: Yvonne Gaudet

When old Bob was very young he wanted a teddy bear of his very own, to love and cherish. Each year no teddy bear arrives! On Old Bobís birthday, however, he finally receives his first teddy bear from Gran.

Emma, seeing how her grandpa sticks the teddy bear on the shelf between his dusty books on the bookshelf, decides to take bear for a tea party. When it is time for Emma and her mommy to go home, Emma becomes very upset. She must leave the teddy on the bookshelf. When Emma returns on her next visit she hugs the teddy and looks at Old Bobís books with him. When it is time for Emma and her mother to leave, grandpa decides that Teddy Bear needs a vacation and that Emma

And vacation they did! To the garden for picnics, to the store, to the beach, in the bath and even hanging around to get dry! When Emma visits Old bob, he examines the teddy bear, as he listens to the fabulous tales of their expeditions. Again at home time Emma doesnít want to give Teddy go, and although Old bob seems to be starting to fall in love with him, he lets Emma take him home again. This time Emma keeps Teddy for a long time. The fur around his nose and tummy is rubbing off due to all the hugs he is receiving. His fur was getting very fuzzy when Emma brushed him. Teddy was beginning to look worn out! When Emma starts school she didnít see Old Bob much, and she even seemed to lose some interest in teddy. During school vacation Old Bob decides to pay Emma a visit. He searches in her toy box for the teddy bear and finds him at the very bottom. When Old Bob picks up Teddy, he looks at him. In return Teddy looks at Old Bob. In that instant, both

Teddy and Old Bob fall in love, but will this be a problem for Emma?

Youíll have to read the book to find out how this cozy book ends!

I recommend this book for all age groups, young and old! Beautiful story line and beautiful pictures will make this book your little ones favorite. After all who could turn their backs on a well-loved well-worn teddy bear.
