We are invited into the story on the first page and encouraged to
enjoy throughout the book.
Turn the pages and see an alphabet book of many creatures found
in a pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin growing process is described with a twist.
Many extra characters are involved!
They are actively participating in each page of the story.
Each
picture is colorful and creative.
Each letter of the alphabet is shown and the object beginning
with that letter is insinuated into the artwork!
The verse is in rhyme and easy to read.
The
artwork was prepared with acrylics on watercolor paper with oil pastel
overlay.
Pastel grounds were spread over the acrylic and oil pastel to
allow for final detailing with acrylic. And
enticing details they are!
I
recommend this book for ages 2-10.
Any child can benefit from the alphabet letter recognition and
the search for the objects on each page.
It is a fun story with more to do than just read.
It involves the reader in the action!
