In this book, Mary Hoffman provides us a beautifully compiled and
meaningful set of parables to share with our children. She gives us her insight to accompany each of the eight stories and presents some questions
after each one. Jackie Morris brings all eight parables to life with her
exquisite paintings. Each is written clearly and is easy to understand.
These timeless stories are more relevant today then ever before. The Good
Samaritan is a parable that all of us, young and old, should live by. Our 3
year old chooses this one over and over. The Lost Sheep and the Prodigal Son
are also included. We're reminded of how important a firm faith is in the
Tale of Two Houses. We cannot simply hear God's word and do our own thing
anyway, we must hear it and act on it. We can help to instill these and many
more ideals in our children as they grow by sharing books like this one with
them regularly. There are even references to the Bible verses containing
these parables at the end of the book. This is a terrific book for all ages,
from a newborn to school age children. All children benefit when they are
read to.
