The
Prayer of Jabez for Little Ones
by Bruce Wilkinson and Melody Carlson
Review by: Laura

If you are looking
for an easy way to introduce prayer to your children, this is it. Melody
Carlson has adapted The Prayer of Jabez, written by Bruce Wilkinson,
especially for children in such a simple and easy to read way.
This book makes God real to young children.
It begins by children learning to trust God and to ask God in love
for things that they need. Children will learn that God is
constantly with them throughout their lives and has such great plans for
them, exciting things to do and be. It teaches children to ask and
to expect God to bless them and answer their prayers. It also
teaches children that God is their Protector, no matter if they are full
of fear. Finally, children will learn to pray for God to help them
to turn away from wrong and learn to obey, so that others around them
will see God living inside of them.
The book breaks down the Prayer of Jabez
section by section and includes a simple prayer for section. It
concludes with four simple questions for the parent to ask to elicit
further discussion about God.
I highly recommend this book for children
age 2 and up. It is a must have for any child’s collection.
