Moo,
Baa, La La La
By Sandra Boynton

This board book is
a fun way to introduce animals and animal sounds to babies and young
toddlers.
Sandra Boynton begins with the sound of a cow
then a sheep, then inserts unexpected singing, dancing pigs who say
"la la la" just to make sure every one is paying attention.
The pigs’ sound is corrected and the book continues. Rhinoceroses,
little dogs, some big dogs, cats and kitten, a duck and a horse all get
their turn to teach the sounds that they make. At the end of the
book, I always insert my child’s name, "It’s quiet now ______,
what do you say?" It gives little ones an opportunity to
repeat their favorite animal sound, make up their own sounds, or ask for
more!
As in all her books, the animals are cute and
pudgy. Getting children to mimic the animal sounds is a great
learning lesson and a way to have fun at the same time. It will
soon become one of your child’s favorite books.
Read it over and over again. I recommend
this book for babies age 9 months and up.
