Snacks : Monsters

Monster Mash added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: raisins, cheerios, M&M's, peanuts ( if appropriate), small pretzels, gold fish crackers 

Let children pick what they like and let them mix it together in a small bowl or baggie


Monster Munch added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: Sunflower Seeds (Rat Toes), Raisins (Bug Eyes), Chocolate Puff Cereal (Ant Eggs), Chow-Mein Noodles (Dried Worms), Spoon, Paper Cup

Mix one spoon of ant eggs and rat toes.
Add one spoon of bug eyes.
Add one spoon of dried worms.
Mix together and eat!


Make Monster Pancakes added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: Pancake batter, food coloring, fruit pieces, whipped topping

Tint the pancake batter with food coloring. Let the children decorate their monster face with fruit pieces and whipped topping.


Pudding Monsters added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: Pudding, orange slices, bananas, grape halves, candy sprinkles, marshmallows, etc...

Fill small bowls with prepared instant pudding Use foods such as orange slices, bananas, grape halves, candy sprinkles, marshmallows, etc, to create monstrous facial features.


Monster Pizza  added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Toast an English muffin.  Spread on pizza or spaghetti sauce.  Add cheese. Cut several pieces of pepperoni into triangles.  Place 1/2  slice for eyes and nose.  Place them overlapping for smile.  Cut thin slices of black olives for the eyeball and thin slices of mushrooms for the ears.  Place long thin strips of green peppers around the top  to resemble hair.  


Monster Cookies added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: 4 sticks of butter or margarine
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
Cream together
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
Add and mix
2 cups flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
3 cups oatmeal
2 tsp baking soda
Add and mix
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins
12 oz chocolate chips

Yield: seven 8 inch or 10 dozen "drop" cookies

Add and mix all together. Shape into 7 gigantic cookies (1 1/2 cup each) 7 inch round and 1/2 inch thick on ungreased cookie sheets, or 10 dozen drop cookies. 1 cup coconut flakes sprinkle on top. Bake 375 degrees for 6-10 min. Until just beginning to brown. Don't over bake.


Monster Toast added 9-2-01 Original Author Unknown

Need: bread, food coloring, milk, small clean paint brushes, and a toaster

Give children a piece of bread. have them paint a monster face onto their piece of bread using the milk mixed with a few drops of food coloring. but in toaster. when done butter and eat.
