Bird Nests

Need: 12
oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 12 oz. jar peanut butter, 9 oz.
can of chow mein noodles, bird eggs - malted milk ball candy that looks
like colored bird eggs
Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan over
medium heat. When the chips have melted, add the peanut butter and remove
from heat. Stir well. Pour in the chow mein noodles. Mix thoroughly. Drop
the mixture by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. These will form nests. Put two
or three bird egg candies in center of nest. Let the nests harden for
about one hour. Makes three to four dozen nests.
Frog Eggs added

Need:
tapioca pudding either instant or the cooking kind
clear plastic cups
Let children help make the pudding. Pour
equal amounts in each cup. Follow package directions on how to make it and
let it chill. The rice in the pudding are the frog eggs. The children love
to pretend they are eating frog eggs. There's always one or two children
who think it is gross.
Caterpillar Cookies added

Get a box of sugar cookie mix. To prepare
then dough add yellow food coloring to the liquid ingredients. Follow
directions on the package for making drop cookies. Using a permanent
marker, personalize a section of aluminum foil for each child. To make the
cookie, child rolls 4 small balls of dough, arranges dough on his piece of
foil, so that they touch. Press 2 miniature chocolate chips in the ball on
one end so that they resemble eyes. Place child’s foil on baking pan,
and bake as directed. makes about 15 cookies.
