A great tool for children learning how
to write their name or practice writing the alphabet is shaving cream.
No one can resist the squishing of the cream and the smell is good too.
Put a small amount of shaving cream on a Formica top table (I do not recommend
wood.) Let the children spread it around. Then use there finger to write
there letters. Practice doing shapes too.

Practice forming letters correctly in sawdust, shaving foam or even
chocolate sauce! The children love the sensory aspect of the activity as well as learning to form letters correctly.
