Raffi
Let's Play
Review by: Yvonne
Gaudet
I’m
embarrassed to say that this is the first time I have ever heard Raffi
sing. Although I have heard of him, I have never owned any of his music
until now. Thank goodness my children are now able to enjoy the music I
have missed out on! This CD is truly enjoyable, with familiar children’s
songs like “Eensy Weensy Spider”, and “If Your Happy and You Know
It”, as well as songs that are familiar to adults, such as “Yellow
Submarine” and “It’s a Wonderful World”. Raffi also sings a
wonderful tribute to Jane Goodall, for her work with chimpanzees, called
“Jane Jane” that had my children and my daycare children dancing to
the wonderful beat! This compact disc is simply a wonderful
addition to our collection. It is full of tunes to captivate even the
youngest children while keeping the older children and even adults,
singing and dancing!
From
monkeys, peacocks, and spiders to submarines, sunshine, and the people who
help raise our children, this recording has it all! Beautifully written
and recorded with both upbeat, fast dance tunes to quiet, snuggle-up quiet
songs, there are many favorites
to choose from! “Raffi: Let’s Play” has become an important addition
to my daycare program, with children ranging in age from 6 months to 10
years of age, Raffi brings them all together with this wonderful CD. My
living room has turned into a singing, dancing, fun place to be,
and when I play Raffi’, the children can’t wipe the smiles off their
faces! Raffi has saved the day on more then one occasion!
My
personal favorites include “Jane Jane”, “It Takes a Village”,
“Raining Like Magic”, and “May There Always be
Sunshine”. This collection of 16 songs, some old some new, are sure to
entertain you and your children for many years to come! The looks on the
babies’ faces, in my care, were priceless as they bounce and sway to the
music. It’s not hard to see why Raffi has been children’s favorite for
over 25 years. Add this compact disc to your collection, you will not be
sorry that you did!
