Sesame Street: Sesame Road

Review by: Yvonne Gaudet

Sesame Road is a fun filled remake of the famous album by the Beatles, performed by the “Sesame Street Beatles”. This cute CD includes mock versions of our favorite songs, altered to a child’s perspective. The song ‘Let it Be’, for instance, has been cleverly changed to ‘Letter B’, the original song ‘A Little Help From My Friends’ has been altered to ‘A Little Yelp From My Friends’. Enjoyable and very entertaining, these tunes are sure to bring back many memories for adults, while at the same time bringing smiles to the faces of the younger people in our lives! These songs are performed by familiar Sesame Street characters including Elmo, Bert, Oscar the Grouch, and Cookie Monster, just to name a few. Great dance music for birthday parties, active times, in the car and even in the backyard. I played this CD for my daycare children, when we were playing in the backyard, and noticed quite a few of my neighbors were smiling and bopping to the beat! Truly a cute album to own, my favorites include ‘Letter B’, ‘Grouch Girls Don’t Want To Have Fun’, ‘Hand Talk’ and ‘ Hey Food’.
Accompanying this CD is a booklet containing the Sesame Street version of the words so all listeners can sing along.  ‘Sesame Road’ will be the perfect album to include in your child’s music library, so get your copy today and enjoy! I recommend this c.d. for preschool to age 6, although my older children enjoy listening to it just as much as the younger ones do!
The proceeds from the sale of this album are placed right back into Sesame Street and other Children’s Television Network educational projects’ which is great to know when you think of how many children learn from watching these favorite shows.
