Jerrie DeRose
About the author: Jerrie
DeRose has been a consultant for Head Start, and other Early Care and Education and pre-school programs for over six years. She
work with parents, staff, and other caregivers in providing training and technical assistance.
Jerrie also authors a newsletter column, "Surviving Parenthood Intact", and
has for over seven years. Like other professionals, she firmly believe that emergent language and literacy skills in the Early Childhood environment are a precursor to school readiness and life long learning and that there is a strong familial role in making that
happen
Jerrie has two children, 11 & 12, a CDA in Early Childhood and Child
Development. In June of next year she will complete my BA in Anthropology. I have an AA in Journalism, also. Jerrie
has her own Website.
