Make cyclones

Need: 2 - 2litre pop bottles, water, blue food coloring, blue glitter 

Directions: Fill one bottle 3/4 with water and add blue food coloring and blue glitter
place the other bottle directly on top of it (no caps) and tape VERY well - I use the
clear packing tape several times. Lift the bottle so the water is on the top and give it a swirl as you do the water in the bottle will create a whirlpool as it flows to the lower bottle. More...

Counting peas in a pod 

Counting peas in a pod.  Show the children a pea pod and a single pea.  Have them guess how many peas they think are inside.  Open the pea pod and count the number of peas.  Check the children's predictions.   Give each child his own pea pod.  Let the children open them and count the number of peas inside. Which had the most?  The least?  The same?  Make a graph of the number of peas in the pods. More...
