Alka-Seltzer Rocket

Use small black film canisters to make your own rockets. Glued
construction paper to give the rocket its own design and decorate it
with markers, yarn and other materials. Put a small amount of
water in each child's "rocket" and head outdoors. One
by one, blast your rockets up into the sky. Here's how it
works... Drop 1/2 a tablet of alka-seltzer in the film canister,
close the lid and set the canister lid down to the ground. The
pressure in the canister causes the rocket to blast in about 30
seconds. It only goes a few feet into the air, but it is very
impressive for the children!
