*Eggs

Need: WHAT here

Directions: Use plastic eggs (from Easter) and have the children glue Easter-egg grass in half of an egg.
Show them how to make a chick by gluing two cotton balls together and making a tiny face on the top ball.
Have them put their chicks in their eggs and use stickers to decorate the outside of the eggs.

What’s in your egg?

Need: WHAT here

Directions:
Give child gets a piece of paper that says “Inside my egg there is a-“______”.
They draw whatever they want to hatch from their egg and label it.
Then they cut an egg shape to cover the drawing and tape it on so it is a flap that can be lifted up.

Duck Prints

Need: Need: Orange and yellow Paint, Small Spatulas, Paper, Pie Tin, and a Fork.

Directions: Mix Orange and/or yellow paint. Pour in a large pie tin. Place one or two (small) spatulas on top of each color of paint.
Have the children walk the spatulas across the paper to make prints.
Talk about how the spatulas make a shape like the duck’s webbed feet. To Do again, use forks to make chick’s feet.

Binoculars

Need: Paper tubes, scissors, yarn or string, hole punch, glue, stickers, paint or markers.

Directions: You will need two empty toilet paper rolls per child. Or one paper towel roll cut in half. Glue the rolls together  in the center to form binoculars. Allow to dry. Punch holes at one end on the outside of each of the rolls. Tie a string from one hole to the other so binoculars can hang around the child’s neck. Decorate with stickers, markers, or paints. Wear on walking field trips or to go bird watching!

Optional: Cover the ends opposite of the ones with the holes punched in them with a colored cellophane. use a rubber band to hold the cellophane on. Now when the children look through the binoculars they will see the world in color.
